Crowborough, UK, March 2022: Servomex, the global experts in gas analysis, celebrates 70 years of providing precise, reliable and revered solutions and products to its customers in 2022.
Founded in 1952 by Richard Steel, John Crockett and Ronald Mudie, now employs over 400 people, operating across multiple countries, in a number of languages and delivers thousands of products to customers across the globe every year.
And while the company can lay claim to a great many accolades in its lifetime, it is the future that most excites them, says President, Andy Cowan, and the work going into assisting plant operators achieve cleaner, more efficient processes as the world moves towards becoming more green.
As a proud supporter of the Business Ambition for 1.5°C campaign, which aims to help halve global emissions by 2030, Servomex has committed to science-based emissions reduction targets across all operations. The company aims to achieve net zero by 2030 across its own operations and by 2040 across their value chain. This means they will strike a clear balance between the amount of greenhouse gases produced with the amount removed from the atmosphere as well as working with customers to achieve their own sustainability goals.
“We are reflecting on our many years in this industry while taking huge steps forward in helping to shape this industry for the future,” Mr Cowan said. “We are the experts in gas analysis having built up a well-earned reputation as such over the course of 70 years. And it is that expertise that allows us to help others to become more sustainable and efficient.
“We are leading the change towards lower-emission processes and cleaner industry and we can help operators to achieve their own clean air goals by focusing on combustion control, gas cleaning and emissions monitoring in a bid to reduce pollution and the damage it causes.”
He added: “Around the world, operators are constantly searching for ways to reduce emissions of carbon and other harmful pollutants as we all aim to decrease the contribution towards greenhouse gas levels.
“After 70 years, the one legacy we want to achieve is that we have striven to make the future better; to make our air more breathable, to make our seas cleaner, to reduce the amount of pollutants expelled unnecessarily into the atmosphere, so that the generations to come can live in a healthier environment and a world we have worked hard to save.”
